It was the fifth time this week that Chloe had found herself staring at the dazzling lights of Ms. Eleanor’s house. The woman had always seemed so… unassuming. Now, her home, which once sat quietly on the corner, was a dazzling display of festive cheer, complete with a professional light show and a perfectly manicured lawn. The festive display was not the issue, it was the blatant display of wealth that was the problem.

Chloe, currently dealing with a broken appliance, a mountain of unpaid bills, and a job she loathed, found herself staring in envy. Each passing day, her energy levels had plummeted. Her limbs ached, her mind was a fog.
